For Librarians and Teachers
Getting Started
  1. Submit your book orders and email your list of participating students by April 11, 2014
  2. Select books that are currently in your collection to get students started on reading about social issues
  3. Supplement with online database articles and other reference resources.
  4. Connect with the collaborating teacher to bridge the discussion and writing in the library and the classroom.
  5. When students are ready to write, have them come to this wiki, click on the relevant page, and use the Google Doc or Word document to submit their post or comment.
  6. Monitor posts as they appear on the wiki and check off that your students have completed their writing submission. At each of the checkpoints below, submit the form to indicate that your students have completed the work to-date
  7. Monitor book reviews as they appear on the wiki and check off that your students have completed their book reviews. At the survey link below, submit the form to indicate that your students have completed their book reviews.
  8. Note: Use the shared tracker to monitor your progress through this grant. Stay on target. Any librarian who does not complete the requirements of this grant by June 13 will be ineligible to participate in CPS Libraries grants in the 2014/15 school year. Please keep students moving and have a goal to finish early.
